Register your interest in applying for a heritage plaque

The Heritage Council has re-introduced its plaques program to recognise and celebrate places entered in the State Register of Heritage Places.

The plaques play a pivotal role in telling the stories surrounding State Registered places, promoting heritage tourism and encouraging community engagement with our heritage places.

The new plaques will be individually tailored to the place and includes the following information:
•    the State Registered place name
•    a summary of its Statement of Significance
•    State Registered place number.

The plaque consists of two parts:
•    a polished stainless steel plaque, and
•    an aluminum backing plate.

The stainless steel plaque fits into the backing plate. The slots on the backing plate give the flexibility to position the plaque on various materials.

Should you receive a plaque, the State Heritage Office will work with you on your preferred placement.

The plaques are offered on an annual basis and are provided free-of-charge. Places to receive a plaque will be chosen by the Heritage Council.

To register your interest in receiving a plaque, please contact plaques@stateheritage.wa.gov.au or 6552 4000.

A virtual plaque is also available and can be used to promote the heritage significance of your business through your website. The virtual plaque will link through to inHerit, which contains information about the place including the heritage assessment documentation.
