Training and information sessions

While the Heritage Act 2018 continues many of the provisions and approaches of the Heritage of Western Australia Act 1990, some changes and additions will affect how different individuals or agencies will need to conduct heritage-related activities in the future. It is also recognised that there are many areas of heritage legislation that are not well understood, or that people will simply need a refresher.

The Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage will therefore be conducting a series of workshops, briefings and presentations to provide updates and information on the Heritage Act 2018. These will include general presentations that cover a range of material relevant to the Act, and more focused sessions that will be relevant to particular professions or sectors.

Plans include regional workshops to allow direct access to information for those in regional centres, and provision of material online.

A schedule for training activities will be published shortly and be updated on this page as events are confirmed. Please check back for further details. Alternatively you can sign up to the Heritage Council eNewsletter, which will send monthly updates identifying the latest news and information on the Heritage Act 2018 and other heritage matters.
